Firm History
Blevens and Damman is the oldest law firm in
Seward County, Nebraska and was originally
established in 1868 by D.C. McKillip
(deceased), the first attorney to practice
law in Seward County. His son, L.H. McKillip
(deceased) later joined his father in the
practice of law, and after the death of D.C.
McKillip, Charles Barth (deceased) joined
the firm.
Ivan A. Blevens joined the firm in 1938 and is now retired
after more than 50 years of practice. In 1971 his son,
Robert I. Blevens, graduated from the University of
Michigan Law School and was admitted to the Nebraska Bar
Association. He has been engaged in the practice of law in
Seward for more than 30 years as an active member of the
firm.
Gregory C. Damman, graduated from the University of
Nebraska Law School in 1989 and has been engaged in the
practice of law for more than 12 years. He is also a
member of the Nebraska Bar Association and became a
partner of the firm in 1998, when the name of the firm was
changed to Blevens and Damman.
